Adding notes to whereabouts

By adding notes to whereabouts you can give more detail to a day for everyone to see.

What are day notes good for?

Day notes are a brilliant way to manage your workforce if:

  1. You have multiple clients or customers and want to keep track of visiting them
  2. You have multiple locations that aren't offices such as stores, warehouses or construction sites.

Day notes let users add where they will be on a day in more granularity.

How to enable notes on days for your company account

You can only add notes to days if you are on the Premium Plan. Notes can only be added to custom whereabouts, not any of the presets such as "Work from home", "In the Office", "Non working day" or "Holiday."

  1. As an admin go to the "Management/Settings" area.
  2. Go to Custom Whereabouts.
  3. Add a new whereabout or edit an exsiting one.
  4. In the Final setup section on the page you will see a toggle to Enable day notes.
  5. Enable notes and tap save. Please note, you can't currently add notes to options that are grouped together under the leave toggle in settings.

Adding day notes

  1. To add a note to a day simply go to the "Team View" under the "Whereabouts" tab.
  2. Set your whereabouts as you normally would by selecting a day.
  3. The custom whereabouts you created or edited earlier should now have an "Add Note" option on it.
  4. Tap the "Add Note" area to add a note.
  5. Tap "Save"

The note will now be added to the Team View and your work calendar.

Others can view this information by hovering or tapping the small note icon.

Deleting or editing day notes

You can't edit day notes, instead you must delete a day note by clearing the day in the Team View.

  1. Tap the day
  2. Tap the "Clear Day" button.

Week notes

If you have "Week Notes" enabled then day notes are automatically appended to the Week Notes.

Syncing to your work calendar

If you have logged in with an Office 365 account or a Google account your choices will be automatically added to your Outlook or Google work calendar. If you have issues with syncing your Whereabouts please check the trouble shooting guide here.
